Commercial UAV Expo 2024 – That’s a Wrap!
It’s hard to believe that the biggest drone convention of the season has come to a close! Drones in Action was this year’s theme and boy was it on target!
Having been part of Commercial UAV Expo (CUAV) since its beginnings, it’s been a true pleasure to see it mature into the expo it now is. CUAV has become the leading international trade show and conference focusing on the integration and operation of commercial UAS. That’s no small feat in this ever-changing industry. From my personal perspective, the team at Diversified Communications continue to do an incredible job of bringing relevant and key industry information to the masses.
This year, is the first year I was unable to attend the show personally. Unfortunately, life got in the way with a trip to the hospital the same week Commercial UAV Expo 2024 was happening. If not for our amazing team (Brady, Ben, David, Adam, Matt, and Logan) it would have been a huge loss for Sundance Media Group to have missed the show.

Live Outdoor Demo – Sept 3
I did have the pleasure of being onsite for the Live Outdoor Flying Demo which traditionally launches Commercial UAV Expo. I arrived at the break of dawn for final field preparations. I wasn’t the only early-bird and with three others we quickly unloaded a truck full of tents, tables, chairs, snacks, and beverages for the morning’s attendees. Our team had the vendor area, snack area, and launch and land area all setup with time to spare this year. Good thing, because the audience arrived EARLY!
We were off and running by 7AM with the audience, an hour before the demonstrations were to begin. Fortunately, with our vendors ready, the audience had an opportunity to apply sunscreen, grab a snack, and see talk to the vendors early. Participating this year was Frontier Precision, the primary sponsor of the 2024 event, Aerialoop, Inspired Flight, GeoCue, Xer Technologies, Multicopter Warehouse, Wingtra and The LiDAR PROs.

From my perspective, the event went off without issue and we had many MANY audience members stop us to let us know how much they enjoyed the event (and the misting tent!). We’ll be doing it again next year, so be sure to save-the-date! (Sept 2 – 4, 2025)
