Sundance Media Group (SMG) will offer practical UAV flight training course to equip UAV pilots with the knowledge, skills and confidence to pilot your UAV flight efficiently and effectively.

Join us for a 1-day training session, or for the 2-day session. Our instructors will be in the field training on both days.

Day TWO – Training Session (7 Hours*)

With two days of practical flight, attendees will have the opportunity to fly more of the objectives noted below, including practice techniques to take home with them.  Attendees will also have an opportunity to fly other UAVs should they like to try hands-on with a variety of UAVs.

• Overview of pre-planning checklist 
  • Outline for the day
  • Wind Speed/weather check
  • Location overview: On-site walkthrough of potential obstacles/issues
  • Safety & Emergency procedures (satellites)
  • Equipment check, site setup, and basic flight controls
  • Planning tools (create the “shot list”)

• Overview of UAV flight requirements
  • Airspace & notification requirements
  • Communication with ground crew and Visual Observer

• General flight instruction and flying time on UAV of choice:
  • Yuneec Typhoon H
  • Yuneec H520
  • DJI Phantom 4
  • Autel XStar
  • 3DR Solo
  • DJI Inspire (Advanced Pilots only – those who have completed the 1-Day course will be able to fly the Inspire)
  • Yuneec 920 (Advanced Pilots only – those who have completed the 1-Day course will be able to fly the 920)

• Manual review & instruction on UAV flight of following techniques on craft of choice:
  • Hover
  • Straight Line
  • Reverse flight
  • God’s-eye
  • Reveals, Pushes, & Dolly shots
  • Orbits (Outside & Inside)
  • Panning
  • Tracking
  • Figure 8’s
